Intellectual Property Protection Policy
Protecting What’s Ours (and Yours Too): Our IP Policy
We care about creativity and respect the rights of intellectual property owners. Here’s how we think about it and what you need to know.
What Kind of Creations Are We Talking About Protecting?
- Copyrighted Stuff: This includes original works like photos, writings, designs, music, and software. If you create it, you likely own the copyright. Sharing or copying it without permission can be a no-no.
- Brand Names and Logos (Trademarks): These are the unique identifiers that set brands apart. Think of our name or logo – they’re ours! Using them in a way that confuses people isn’t allowed.
- Personal Image (Publicity Rights): Everyone has a right to control how their name and image are used commercially. So, using someone’s picture to sell something without their consent isn’t right.
Think Something on Our Site Steals Your Creative Thunder? Here’s What to Do:
If you honestly believe something on our platform steps on your intellectual property toes, please let us know. Shoot us an email at support@fifteefive.com with the subject line “IP Claim.”
Make sure to include:
- A direct link to what you think is infringing.
- Proof that you own the rights (like a registration or a link to your original work).
- Your contact deets (name, email, phone).
- A promise that you really think it’s an infringement.
- A sworn statement that you’re telling the truth and you own the rights (or can act for the owner).
What Happens After You Tell Us?
- We’ll give you a quick “got it” email.
- We’ll take a look at what you sent and the link you gave us.
- If it looks like there’s a problem, we might take down the content and let the person who posted it know.
- We’ll also tell you what we did.
We try to handle these things fairly and quickly.
Oops! We Took Down Your Stuff by Mistake? Here’s What You Can Do:
If we removed something you posted and you think we messed up, you can send us a “Hey, wait a minute!” email (a counter-notice) to support@fifteefive.com.
Tell us:
- What we took down and where it was originally.
- Why do you think it was a mistake (under penalty of perjury!).
- That you’re okay with the local court having jurisdiction.
- Your digital signature.
We’ll then forward that to the person who made the first claim and might put your stuff back up after a bit if they don’t take legal action.
